Solid and hollow bangles, hinged and sprung bangles, torque and slave bangles, and 22ct Asian and Indian wedding bangles — in 9ct, 14ct, 18ct and 22ct. Every bangle is weighed and carat-tested individually.
A big bangle is not always a valuable one — most large everyday bangles are hollow, with a fraction of the gold a solid piece holds. We value the metal a bangle actually contains, weighed to 0.01g, so the figure is honest whether your bangle is a heavy solid 22ct or a light hollow 9ct. Free insured postage. Written valuation per piece. Paid in 72 hours.
We buy every kind of gold bangle, hallmarked or unmarked, single or in sets, whole or damaged. Because a bangle is a rigid piece — often hollow, sometimes hinged, occasionally set with enamel or stones — the way it is made changes what it is worth, so we identify the construction before we value the metal.
If your piece flexes and fastens with a clasp along its length it is really a bracelet — see sell gold bracelets. A bangle is a rigid or hinged ring of metal worn over the hand. Not sure which you have? Send it in; we identify and value it correctly either way.
The metal value of a gold bangle comes from three numbers multiplied together:
Weight (grams) × purity fraction × current gold price per gram = metal value
We weigh every bangle to 0.01g on calibrated scales and confirm the carat by hallmark or non-invasive XRF testing, referenced to the published LBMA daily gold price (verifiable at lbma.org.uk). Any enamel, stones or a recognised maker is assessed on top of the metal floor, and the higher of melt or resale is offered. The method and figures are set out in your written valuation.
This matters more for bangles than for almost any other piece of gold jewellery. Most large, comfortable everyday bangles are hollow tube bangles: a thin skin of real gold formed into a tube around empty space. They look substantial but weigh very little — a wide hollow 9ct bangle can weigh less than a slim solid one. That is normal manufacturing, not a sign of fake gold.
Because value follows the actual gold present, we weigh what a bangle truly contains rather than pricing it on size. A hollow bangle is valued honestly on its real recoverable gold; a solid bangle of the same diameter, holding far more metal, is worth correspondingly more. We explain which yours is, and why, in writing.
Place a hollow 9ct tube bangle beside a solid 9ct bangle of the same size and they can look the same on the wrist — yet the solid one may hold three or four times the gold, and be worth three or four times as much. A buyer who quotes on appearance rather than weight is guessing. We weigh every bangle, so the figure reflects the gold that is genuinely there.
Indicative mid-2026 rates based on a gold spot price of approximately £68 per gram (fine gold). Actual rates fluctuate daily. Your written valuation uses the live price on the day of assessment.
| Carat | Purity | Hallmark stamp | Approx. per gram |
|---|---|---|---|
| 9ct | 37.5% | 375 | ~£25.50 |
| 14ct | 58.5% | 585 | ~£39.80 |
| 18ct | 75.0% | 750 | ~£51.00 |
| 22ct | 91.6% | 916 | ~£62.30 |
A solid 22ct bangle carries the most gold value per gram, which is why a matched set of 22ct wedding bangles can add up to a significant figure. Hollow 9ct pieces sit at the other end — still worth selling, but priced on their real, lighter gold content.
We regularly value 22ct Asian, Indian, Pakistani and Middle Eastern gold bangles, including wedding sets, filigree work and enamelled meenakari designs. At 22ct — 91.6% pure — these hold a high value per gram, and some pieces test even higher than 22ct, which we confirm rather than assume. Where a bangle carries coloured enamel or set stones, we account for those separately so the gold is priced accurately. Matched sets are itemised bangle by bangle, and you are free to sell some and keep others; anything you don't sell is returned free.
A bangle's fittings are not always gold, and we identify them before weighing the metal. The spring inside an expanding bangle is usually base metal and is deducted; hinge pins, safety chains and some clasps may be non-gold and are accounted for. On bangles the hallmark is often struck on the inside edge, next to the hinge, or on the clasp rather than anywhere obvious — so we check the whole piece, and confirm worn, part-struck or unmarked bangles by testing rather than guesswork.
A cracked hollow bangle, a failed hinge or a bent solid bangle keeps its full gold value, and damaged pieces are welcome — if a bangle is only worth its metal we say so and price it fairly; see sell scrap gold and broken jewellery, which also covers damaged 22ct pieces. One thing to watch for is rolled gold or gold-filled bangles: a thin gold layer bonded over a base-metal core, often marked "rolled gold", "RG" or "1/10 12ct", holding very little recoverable gold. Solid gold carries a fineness mark (375, 585, 750, 916). If you are unsure, send it — we test at no cost and tell you honestly. Tell us what you have — a single bangle, a hinged bangle, or a stack of 22ct wedding bangles. A sentence or two is enough. We email you a free prepaid, tracked and insured shipping label the same working day.
Close any hinges and safety catches, then pack your rigid bangles so they cannot knock against one another in transit — a padded box is ideal. Attach the label and drop it at any Royal Mail or DPD point; your parcel is insured to £5,000 from the moment the courier scans it.

Get your free label →The value starts from weight × purity × the live gold price. Two bangles of the same size can be worth very different amounts because one may be solid and the other hollow. We weigh every bangle to 0.01g, test the carat rather than trusting the stamp, and add any premium for design, maker, enamel or stones before making an offer.
Because most large everyday bangles are hollow tube bangles — genuine gold, but a thin gold tube around empty space, so they weigh a fraction of a solid bangle of the same size. This is normal and not a sign of fake gold. We value the actual recoverable gold, so a hollow bangle is priced honestly on what it truly contains.
Yes. We regularly buy 22ct Asian, Indian and Middle Eastern wedding bangles, including filigree and enamelled (meenakari) designs and matched sets. At 22ct (91.6% pure) these carry a high value per gram. We weigh each bangle, confirm the purity — some test even higher — and account for any enamel or stones separately.
Yes. There is no minimum. A single bangle from a broken set, a child's expanding christening bangle, or one odd hinged bangle are all valued on the same basis. We itemise each piece separately and return anything you decide not to sell, free.
Rolled gold and gold-filled bangles have a thin layer of gold over a base-metal core — often marked "rolled gold", "RG" or "1/10 12ct" — and hold very little recoverable gold. Solid gold carries a fineness hallmark (375, 585, 750 or 916). If you are unsure, send it in: we test every piece non-destructively and tell you honestly what it is at no cost.
