Fair Vintage  /  How It Works
The seller's process · step by step

From the drawer
to your bank, in nine days.

Most online valuers send a one-line offer and hope you take it. We work the way an auction house would — itemise, research, photograph, explain — except you don't pay commission, you don't wait three months, and nobody tries to talk you down.

I
Day 1 · 09:00

You request your free label

Tell us roughly what you have — a sentence is fine. We'll email you a free prepaid, tracked, and insured shipping label the same working day.

Print the label, attach it to any sturdy box or jiffy bag, and you're ready to go. No special packaging required — just make sure your items are wrapped securely inside.

II
Day 2 – 4

You pack it & post it

Wrap each item carefully in tissue paper or bubble wrap to keep it safe in transit. Drop the parcel at any Royal Mail or DPD point — both work, neither charges you.

The moment the courier scans the parcel, you're insured up to £5,000 and a confirmation email lands in your inbox. You can track it live in your dashboard.

III
Day 5 · arrival

Your parcel goes live on YouTube

The moment your parcel arrives, we email you two things: your unique parcel code and the time your box will be opened on our YouTube Live channel.

Watch the stream live if you can. If you can't, the recording is saved and time-stamped — we'll send you a link that jumps straight to your moment.

Comments are open. Collectors and buyers tune in. If someone watching takes a particular interest in one of your pieces, we'll pass on what they've said — it sometimes turns into a higher offer than we'd have made ourselves. Either way, you decide.

IV
Day 6 – 8

Specialists value, piece by piece

Your parcel is split across the relevant desks: jewellery, watches, ceramics & glass, coins, art, and so on. Each specialist writes a one-paragraph note on every piece — what it is, what it isn't, and the reasoning behind the figure they've quoted.

For pieces over £1,000, two specialists must independently agree before the valuation is sent.

V
Day 9

You decide, piece by piece

You receive an itemised PDF with every piece — photograph, write-up, and price. Tick the items you'd like to sell. Decline anything. We don't bundle, we don't pressure, and we never send a single number.

Anything you decline is returned, free, in the same insured packaging within 5 working days.

VI
Day 9 · +72 hrs

Paid within 72 hours

Bank transfer, sent within 72 hours of your parcel going live on YouTube. Our 72-hour clock starts from the broadcast — if the money's late, we add 3%, written into the contract.

A small thing, but: you can ring the specialist who handled your pieces. They'll tell you about each one. Most people find that bit nice.

Six promises · in writing
